I normally do not post anything related on politics, but things have been higgledy-piggledy in the past few days. Domestically, a mass demonstration followed by a riot from some religious groups and students took place. Truth be told, it's a little shocking to us given we have lived many years without violence since the riot of 1998. Then, only a few days later the breaking of news on the result of the US presidency is even more shocking!
I am not a big fan of Mister Trump and boy, are we all aware of his unique character. His statements often rubs the wrong shoulder of many people especially from certain religious groups, sex-orientation groups, etc. Online trending topics emerge, even hashtags that sounds very offensive (okay, no need to mention the name).
Though very controversial, I have to admit that this guy has excellent qualities a politician must have. One staggering factor among many is his persistence nature against all odds. Perhaps, the Simpsons will agree with me. After all, they were the one who predicted it long ago (remember those days? *wink).
Having lost the vote back in the days, even lost some of his companies years before he even thought of jumping in into politics, do not deter him to pursue the road to the Oval Office. He is also persistent towards his conservative view on so many sensitive subjects although later on, he softens his tone when voicing such issues.
Persistence and not easily to give up is what the man is to me. And that my friend, is what finally bring him to his victory, that being the Oval Office. For this also, I'd like to say: Congratulation Mister Trump!
I hope you can forge a good relationship with my country, Indonesia, garner mutually benefitting business ventures and support political stability.
