Sometime ago, we bought a plot of land somewhere in Jakarta. After wrapping up the legal paperwork, lock stock and barrel, we hoped to start construction sometime in 2019. It did not happen unfortunately. There was a bigger deal we needed to go through. That being my pregnancy.
Yes, we postponed the construction to early 2020. Well, at least that was the plan. Who would've thought that in March 2020, my country was officially hit by the omnipresent bug. Suddenly, a lot of bad things emerged. From a compulsory mask wearing (oh yes, we've lost the right to breathe!), lockdowns, mass employment termination (thankfully not happened to yours truly!) everywhere, to deaths. The result was another procrastination.
Fast forward to early 2021, we decided to finally start the construction. Darn, it wasn't easy! We had to select first, the architect whose taste was of our liking and whose budget fits our wallet. Then, to choose the right contractor, whose work portfolio is of good quality. This was the most difficult. We spent days and days surveying around. At last, we chose one who has been working a lot with different developer companies in the area.
Below are some snippets of how the construction goes:

Still a long way to go though, I cannot wait till we reach the finishing part. I know I will be feeling a bit nervous as finishing is the toughest part when constructing a house. Especially with our house, we use a lot of natural stones. Speaking of natural stones, I cannot wait to order the marbles. Oh, who would not love marbles. They are strong, sturdy, cold, yet so beautiful.
Pray for the smooth sailing of everything, a big Amen!
