Paris Day 2 - Cruising the Seine River

Since we've still got some time to kill after visiting Versailles, we thought what better way than to spend it on cruising the river Seine before the day turned into a complete darkness. It's good to have learned a little something on French history. Now, it's time to enjoy the city from another perspective.

Hussein, our taxi driver dropped us off right on Bateaux-Parisienne point. From here, we needed to climb a few stairs down to reach the pier. Ready with the tickets on hands, our group of 5 people waited patiently in a queue until they let us in inside the boat.

Just as we were about to reach the boat, we suddenly heard  a loud "ho ho ho"  at the connecting bridge. Santa Claus greeted Merry Christmas and asked us to throw a big smile. I thought "how nice", but then I found out apparently someone took a snap picture of us and him in the middle from a distance. Hence, the surprise is not so bemusing after all.  The picture  priced at a whopping 10 Euro per piece. I said: Thanks, but no thanks.

We continued to walk inside the trimaran boat. The boat we took was the one for sightseeing only, not the ones with restaurant inside where you can enjoy a sunset dinner on the Seine. Nonetheless, it is still an enjoyable afternoon ride.

The boat is equipped with an automatic audio phone that explained the history of the river as well as the iconic buildings that we passed by.

As the boat started to glide on the river with full swing, we climbed the stairs up to sit on the boat's alfresco roof.  The view was mesmerizing. Not only that, it aroused a romantic vibe in my surroundings. I saw some older crowds cuddling tenderly and the younger ones  were busy with practicing that steamy French kiss. Not that they intend a little showing- off, but I guessed love was so in the air.

We passed by some of Paris' iconic buildings, namely the Notre-Dame cathedral, some museums,  the magnificent Eiffel Tower and the famous Alexander III bridge.

D'orsay museum looked as elegant as it always is, even from this kind of perspective. So does the Eiffel tower. It seems from whichever corner is your pose, you won't get wrong with Eiffel tower as your background.

In my opinion, this cruise is best enjoyed in any seasons. Cold or hot, winter or summer or spring, I am sure you will still be able to enjoy it.

Not feeling let down by the cold breeze, we took as many snaps as we can. Here are some of them. *wink*
