Brunch Sum More? - Ling Ling Tea House & Dim Sum

If you live in Jakarta, it is a common knowledge that Senopati neighbourhood is showing more and more eatery establishments. They range from local to international cuisines. Each joint offers its own uniqueness. Be it the taste of food, ambience, theme, even their pricing.

But, where to go if one just want to have some bite size food between finger and thumb? After all, not everyone have the whole afternoon to savour delicacies.

Perfectly blending tradition with modernity, Ling-ling arrives at the right time in the right place. Bringing the good stuff between one's finger and thumb. A selection of dim sum, that is. Simple bite size, served in a timely manner, and ever so comforting.

I must say, it's a smart move to penetrate the market at a time when business owners tend to open too many of Japanese restaurants in the neighbourhood. No offence, I love Japanese food. But, don't we all need a little more diversity here.

Ling-ling is styled in a casual way with some Chinese decor elements. Its interior is sleek and humble. The restaurant is also environmental friendly. Just look at those windows below. Plenty of natural lights come in during the day. Hence, saving more energy.

Orange Chicken

The  Siu May is designed a tad smaller than usual Siu May I normally have, but smoothly served with enough steam and warmth. Juicy, soft and savoury 1 piece of Siu May quickly melt in my mouth at just one bite. The mixture of steamed chicken, prawn and flour dough creates a lovely smell that truly arouse my appetite. Hence, I gotta control that temptation. Because you know what? Dim sum is super high in calorie, my friend (especially carbs!).

Therefore, I chose not eat them all. Glad that my husband was with me that day. You know, who wiped out most of these delicious bites. *wink*

We also tried their beef dumpling cheong fun. The beef has a very subtle sour taste. When mixed with the soy dip, boy it was so heavenly. Next, we were served with their crunchy orange chicken.

The orange chicken is sweet, aromatic, and a little tangy. Mixed those flavours altogether, it is bold enough to make it as the centerstage of all the 3 (three) meals we tried. It was super delicious and fulfilling. I took more or less 4 pieces of them and I went completely full.

The more fulfilling news is that they come in a pretty reasonable pricing (around Rp. 35.000/USD 3 per plate for dim sum and Rp. 55.000/USD4 for the chicken).

Best time to visit? I could say on a Saturday, brunch time (before 12 noon). When My husband and I visited this dim sum joint on a blissful Saturday brunch time, it was quiet, free of noises and easy to get the parking slot. We had a quality time together. It's truly soothing and comforting.

This joint is also good for birthday lunch or any other social events. The room is spacious and they provides plenty of chairs and tables suitable for a function. There is a small parking area in front of the restaurant. If it gets too crowded, they provide a Valet service for customers.

If you are Jakartan and a foodie then we strongly recommend you to try out this dim sum joint. Nothing to lose anyway. Like one blogger says, "we win some, we dim sum". Right? *wink*
