I have heard about good reviews on Novotel, Bogor located only an hour or so from Jakarta. Luckily, I had the opportunity to visit this place when my office held an outing event last March. Prior to finish work on Friday, a few weeks ago, we rode on the bus to Bogor. A weekend getaway with office peers was about to begin.
We started at Kebun Raya Bogor (Bogor Botanical Garden) to have a tutty fruity fiesta before we headed off to the hotel.
I got to strike a pose as I was indeed mesmerized by the sheer greenery of my surroundings.
And the fruits party was one of a kind. Very tropical indeed. Only filled with those fruits of Indonesia.
Introducing you to the famous fruit of Indonesia, Durian. The spiky and smelly fruit. For some people, the smell is awful but I tell you this, the taste was incredible. Perhaps in the case of durian, I can safely say do not judge the book by its cover. This thick fruit taste like none of those things you have tried before. It is simply sumptuous and can make you add for more.
We, then, headed off to Novotel, located not very far away from the Botanical garden. When we arrived, we were greeted by the staff and they quickly helped us with our luggage too. The lobby is very warm and so environmental friendly.
We were then ushered to our room. The room is not that big but it has a large balcony surrounded with trees. The air blanketing the area is very fresh. Less pollution. Very different from Jakarta. Plenty of green space for children and adults to do activities.

The hotel is equipped with nice restaurants and the bar is not a bad idea either. They have an open-space restaurant where you can smell and feel the gentle touch of the fresh air of Bogor. Plenty of trees and their grass is really green. In the middle of the restaurant there is a small hut for the traditional singers to entertain you.
And do not forget to try on their traditional drinks. It is called jamu. Made of traditional ingredients and spices which are believed to be able to help you get healthier.

Overall, Novotel Bogor is the perfect place for Jakartans to take a time off. Breath fresher air. Do more physically active stuff such as running, jogging, even swimming (if you like). The area is very clean and environmentally friendly. I am convinced that you will spend a good time here. *wink.
